Alpha Plane

In Vue d'Esprit, you can use pictures in your scenes.
This simple tutorial shows you how you can do that in a few steps.

Here, we want to add a leaf to our scene, but know it is not necessary to create a 3D model of the leaf.
Let's find an image of a leaf and open it in your favorite painting program.

Create an alpha mask of the image.
We need the alpha mask for creating a transparency around the leaf.

Open Vue and create a new scene. Press the Object menu > Create > Alpha Plane. You will load the Alpha Plane Editor.

In the Color picture Section press the Load button and browse to your picture of a leaf.
In the Alpha picture section, load your alpha mask picture.
Check the Adjust plane proportions to match the proportions of the alpha mask picture and the picture itself.
Press OK and enjoy!
