Boolean and replicate operations -

Using Boolean and/or Replicating skills in Vue, you can really create incredible
things. The Boolean and Replicating bundle is a powerful tool for modeling.
In this tutorial, I will show how you can create a skyscraper.
Open a new scene
and choose any atmosphere you like. Create a cube
and flatten it in the Side view.
Create a cylinder,
flatten it too, and place it in the
center of the cube. Make the cylinder's height the same
as the cube's height.
You can do this easily in the 'Numerics tab' of the Object properties panel.
You should get something
similar to my picture below.

Press Ctrl and in the World Browser select
the cube and the cylinder simultaneously. Press
the Boolean Union button.
Create another cube and make it smaller. We will use the second
cube as a 'bevel' for our building.
Make another three copies of the same cube for the other corners. (See the picture)

Now, in the World Browser select the Union and the (corner) cubes.
Press the Boolean Difference button.
Rename what you have now to 'Section1'.
Make a copy of 'Section1'and rename it 'Top'.
Decrease the height of the 'Top' and place it on 'Section1'. (See the picture)

In the World Browser select 'Section1' and 'Top' and make a Boolean Union.
Rename the new union 'Section'.
Ok, lets replicate the 'Section'.
In the World Browser select 'Section'  and open the Scatter/Replicate Objects dialog from the Edit menu.
In the Replicate objects tab, we only need to use the Z-value
of the 'Move copies of...' box. Experiment a bit and find a
suitable value. This value depends on the size of your cube.
For instance, the parameters of my cube were: X=135; Y=135; Z=33, and the
Z-value was 76.
