In this tutorial I will teach you the basics of Boolean Operations.
In Vue, you'll find three different types of Boolean operations:
- Boolean difference;
- Boolean union;
- Boolean intersection.
Here we will use the difference and the intersection.
Ok, create a new scene and choose any atmosphere you like.
Press the Load Objects button
and select Column from the Outside collection.

Place the Column somewhere on the 'ground'.
Press the Rock  button
to create a rock. Resize the rock to make it bigger and place it on the column.
For better performance, you can control the rock's position in the 'Top view' and in the 'Side view'. (See picture below)

Select the column in the World Browser
and press the Ungroup button.
Now, we will apply the Boolean operation.
Select Pillar_1,
then press and hold the Ctrl button on your keyboard.
Select the Rock and then press the Boolean Difference
button.
It is important to first select Pillar_1'.
The Pillar_1 will be the base from which the Rock will be subtracted.
Try to render.

Now, lets find the destroyed part of our column.
Go to the World Browser  and select Difference',
right click it and select Copy, right click again and select Paste.
With the second Difference still selected, press the Ungroup button.
With the highlighted Pillar_1 and Rock, press
the Intersection button
Move the 'Intersection' a bit in the Main camera view and try to render.
