The 'Path' materials in Vue
In this tutorial, we will create a distant green field material with paths or tracks. I will show how you can easily achieve a wonderful result using the 'Material Editor'. Start Vue, create a new scene,   First of all let's find a nice grass material. Select 'Ground' in the 'World Browser'. Press the 'Load material' button   In the 'Object properties' window, right click the material pattern and select 'Edit Material'. ![]() In the 'Material Editor' window, right click the sphere in the 'Material 1' section and select 'Save material'. You will be prompted to save the material as 'Global grass' in the Materials directory. Press the 'Save' button and press OK in the 'Material Editor' window. Press the 'Load material' button Right click the pattern again and select 'Edit Material'. In the Material Editor window, select 'Mix materials' in the 'Type' box. ![]() Right click the sphere in the 'Material 2' box and select 'Load a Material'. Load the 'Soil' material from the 'Rocks' collection. Double click the sphere in the 'Distribution of material 1 and 2' section. This will load the collection of functions. Select the 'Undulating furrows' from the
'Layers' set. Press OK and check the result: ![]() If you are looking for something different, you can try to load another function or edit the existing one. If you need to edit the function right click the pattern in the 'Distribution of material 1 and 2' section and select 'Edit function'. OK, now let's make our material more real. In the 'Function Editor' window, select 'Min' in the 'Combination mode'. In the 'Scale' box, enter 1 in the Y field. Make sure the 'Wave' function is selected. ![]() Try to render. ![]() |
