The Replicate Objects option in Vue is a very convenient tool to model complex objects very easily.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a sunshade.
In the summer time you can see these round tables on the streets, in small restaurants and cafes.
Using the Scatter/Replicate Objects option from the Edit menu, you can quickly create a wide number of objects, and automatically control their moving, rotating, resizing and twisting.

Create a new scene and select any atmosphere you like.
Create a Pyramid by pressing the 'Pyramid' button, or just press Shift+y on your keyboard. In the 'Side view', rotate the pyramid to the right 90 degrees. To do this, go to the 'Object properties' window and select the 'Numerics' tab.

Highlight the 'Orientation' button and set the 'Pitch' value to 270.
Then, with the pyramid still selected go the 'Edit' menu and select 'Scatter/Replicate objects'. Select the 'Replicate objects' tab.

Check the 'Generate copies' box to generate 16 copies of the pyramids. In the 'Rotate copies of…' section, enter 20 for the Y rotation and press OK.
Press the 'Group Objects' button. In the 'World Browser' rename the Group of your pyramids to 'Umbrella'. As you understand, your 'Umbrella' is just a group of the 16 pyramids. Rotate the pyramid back to 90 degrees and then squash to make it look like an umbrella. See the picture below.

Now, we need a long leg for our umbrella. Create a Cylinder, (Shift+c) then resize, scale and move it, to suit our needs. Select the 'Umbrella' group and in the 'Numerics' tab of the 'Object properties' window highlight the 'Position' button. Set the following coordinates:
X=0; Y=0; Z=100.
(Refine the position of the 'Main camera' if needed). Select the 'Leg' and set the same X and Y coordinates (0). Controlling the Z coordinate, place the 'Umbrella' on the 'Leg'.
Load 'Table 1' from the 'Furniture' collection and use the same coordinates technique to put it exactly in the center.
