The scatter option is useful for creating scenes that contain multiple copies of objects.
For example, using the scatter option you can quickly create a forest or a few stones.
For instance, I would like to have about 10 or 15 rocks for my scene.
Do I have to load and edit all of them?
No way! If you know about the Scatter option in Vue, you can quickly create as many stones as you need. And all rocks will be different.
So, let's start.

Create a new scene, choose any atmosphere you like and press the "Rock" button to load a rock.
Select the rock in the World Browser and in the Object properties window select the 'Numerics' tab.

Set the following positioning values:
X=15;
Y=60;
Z= 0.

Load the 'Scatter/Replicate Object' window from the Edit menu.
Set the minimum position values the same as in the 'Numerics' tab (X=15 Y=60 Z=0).
Set the maximum position values to:
X=-500; Y=600; Z=0 (that's further back)
(See picture below).

Now, let's set the object's resizing option.
The size of my rock is 7,5 along all axes. So I have set the minimum size parameters to 3 and the maximum ones to 15.
Change the 'Maximum angle' of the rotating parameters if you want to rotate the rocks. Same if you want the new rocks twisted.
Choose to Generate 15 copies.

Press OK and refine the position of your stones if needed.
That's it.
