Water
splashes are nice details that can add more realism to your scenes.
In this short tutorial, you will learn how to create simple water splashes
step by step.
Open Vue, create a new scene,
and choose the 'Lofoten' atmosphere from the 'Bad weather' collection.
Delete the 'Ground' in the 'World Browser'.
Press the 'Terrain' button
to create a terrain.
Double click the terrain in the 'Main camera view'
to open the 'Terrain Editor'.
Select the 'Paint'
tab and press the 'Reset' button.
Press the 'Altitude' button
and enter 20 in the 'Altitude' field.
In the 'Brush settings' section, drag the 'Flow' slider to the right and
the 'Softness' to the left.

Try to
paint something like in my picture.

Select the 'Effects' tab
and apply the following effects until you have something like in
my picture.
You can use the 'Stones', 'Pebbles' and 'Peaks' effects,
to create splashes.

When you have finished, drag the 'Clip slider'
to the right to remove everything except the stones.

Press OK and now you can place your splashes where you want.
To get a more complex object, make a few copies of the same terrain.
Rotate
a little bit each copy in the 'Top view', and then group
all together.

Apply
the material. For instance, you can use the 'See foam' material for scenes
with a ship's wake.
You can save your splash object for a future use. Right click the group
of objects in the World Browser and select 'Save Object'.
